ACTIVATE Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane & beyond!

We’re proud to announce that we are beginning to implement our ACTIVATE program in schools Australia-wide this year!We have received tremendous feedback from the schools and students we have been working with so far. Congratulations to the 2024 Peter Doherty Awards for Excellence in STEM Education winners! The winners were unveiled on Tuesday, 13 August 2024, just in time to celebrate National Science Week .This year also marks the 21st anniversary of these prestigious awards, named in honour of Brisbane's own Nobel Prize-winning scientist, Professor Peter Doherty. Embark on the Ekka Learning Trail with agronomist Rhondda and her Farmyard Friends for an educational adventure!

This self-guided tour offers a deep dive into agricultural education with a focus on AgTech and the science behind food and fibers. The Learning Trail Passport and Teacher's Guide, aligned with the Australian Curriculum, bridge the gap between science and agriculture.

The trail features eight distinct stops, beginning at the Ag Education Hall and culminating with the dairy production process. Along the way, students of all ages explore topics such as living organisms, materials, biological diversity, body systems, natural selection, adaptations, and evolution, with a special emphasis on species survival.

As part of the Learning Trail, discover Ekka's Greenhouse Innovator Competition. This initiative encourages students to optimize food production through STEM and horticultural studies. View the winning models from the competition, where students employed robotics and data analysis to enhance their classroom lettuce farms.

Queensland State Library just celebrated Library information week 2024. This years theme focused on the Roots of Democracy, looking at the profound connection between libraries and the knowledge, values and principles that contribute to a democratic society.

We're excited to announce that Lote Tuqiri is one of the huge line up of community ambassadors we have supporting our ACTIVATE school program! Lote Tuqiri is a former professional dual-code rugby player who represented Australia in both rugby league and rugby union, and Fiji in rugby league. In this video, Lote talks about why he wanted to be involved with the ACTIVATE program and what makes him so passionate about giving back to the community.

After two days of working with schools in Brisbane, we set off early this morning to continue our journey. Our ACTIVATE program is specifically designed to help students achieve their potential, and it was a privilege to be able to deliver it to students in the local community. We are passionate about supporting students in reaching their academic and personal goals, and it was wonderful to see the positive impact our program will have on the students we worked with.

We recently had the pleasure of being a part of and sponsoring the TML Smash Masters Badminton Tournament on the 25th of May at Point Cook in Victoria! Justin Hodges is an Australian professional boxer and former rugby league player. Justin played rugby in the 2000s and 2010s for the Brisbane Broncos before moving onto the Sydney Roosters.
